The R556A1 is engineered to meet demanding requirements for full-auto durability, repeatability, sound suppression, and limited impact on host operation. Its core has exceeded repeated SOCOM SURG firing cycles and is built to handle M855A1 from short barrels.
Beginning with updated production, the bore accommodates 6 mm cartridges such as 6 mm ARC. In-house gas nitriding and C-Series Cerakote provide additional hardness, chemical resistance, and heat protection.
